I’m Liz Jostes.
I’m a 30 something marketer, social media consultant, business owner, blogger and mom. I’ve been at this bloggy thing since 2008, and with each new post published, thought tweeted and networking connection made, I find yet another parallel between consumer behavior & business and blogging & social media.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, I worked as a project manager and analyst for marketing research firms. I helped guide consumer product and service companies to improve their offerings and better serve the needs of their customer base. These experiences provided me with great insight about what’s needed to form the necessary bonds between suppliers and end users.
Pairing my consumer behavior and business knowledge with my social media experience, I co-founded a social media consultancy in January of 2011. Our focus is helping small businesses grow and thrive in the increasingly-social marketplace.
Offline, I’m active in the social media community in Memphis, TN. I’ve presented to local social media and WordPress groups, and for professional organizations, at TechCamp Memphis conferences, and for the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business and Economics’ Advanced Social Media Strategies course and for a course in their Department of Journalism. I’m also a founding member of GEEKMemphis, an organization dedicated to advancing the tech community in Memphis, the PR/Marketing committee chair for both 2012 TechCamp Memphis conferences, and was the Memphis representative for the 2012 Twive & Receive national day of nonprofit fundraising through social media.
